98ABSTRACTS OF SIKH STUDIES : JAN-MARCH 2006 / 537-38 NShaving learnt very useful lessons during various wars have lost themduring peace. Sikhs have also made the same mistake. We haveforgotten many lessons taught to us by our Gurus. However, havingstudied the history of the Jews, he felt that we could learn some lessonsfrom them. One such example is their education fund to which everyJew residing any where in the world contributes a fixed sum. Bright students are then selected to achieve higher educationand research in their chosen disciplines. This system has produced amyriad scholars of repute and a galaxy of Nobel Prize winners. Weshould emulate this example. Dr Sukhmandir Singh totally supportedthe aims and objectives of the ISC and promised dedicated support toestablish this very laudable effort.HISTORIC RESOLUTIONAfter these confabulations, the House then unanimously adoptedthe Resolution formulated by the Action Committee and presented tothe House by Giani Harinder Singh, President, Kendri Singh Sabha,Chandigarh.
