not become part of Germany’s efforts to build atomic weapons. Mildner himself was captured <strong>and</strong> held<br />

initially at Dachau <strong>and</strong> later at Nuremberg. He was about to be extradited to Pol<strong>and</strong> for war crimes, when<br />
