Simena's wire speed packet filtering allows users to pick and choose specific packets to be forwarded. <strong>Packet</strong> Slicing<strong>Packet</strong> slicing feature allows users to forward packets with only headerinformation by stripping the payload or any other portion of the packet.This will help to eliminate overloading of monitoring tools. Users canspecify packet slices from 64 to 4096 bytes.High Port DensityWith the aid of the easy to use web GUI, and high port density (24ports in 1U), PFS allows the creation of any-to-any, or many-to-manyconnections among all available ports. Ports are not dedicated forcertain functions. Any port can be used as an input, output, tap,network or monitor port. PFS can be purchased with any number ofports. It can later be upgraded by purchasing additional port licenses.Port TaggingSimena’s PFS ‘s port tagging feature help users to determine theorigine of the packets. When port where tagging is enabled, incomingpackets are marked with the port number they are received. During thisoperation, the content of the packet is maintained. Monitoring systemscan easily determine the port that the packet was received by referringto the port tagging field of the packets.Central Management & Clustering with Web GUIThrough PFS's web based user interface, ports can be easily configured;configuration files can be reviewed, saved and shared.
