APPENDIX B — MANUALLY CREATING THEAVAMARBACKUPUSER ACCOUNTEMC Avamar Exchange Client 5.0 introduces a new wizard to configure theAvamarBackupUser account with the correct settings needed for message-levelbackups and recoveries. The procedures are part of the installation tasks in theQuick Reference (Road Map) (page 20).However, some users may prefer to manually create the AvamarBackupUseraccount using the methods available in Avamar Exchange Client 4.1 and earlier.Avamar Exchange Client 5.0 still supports this manual method.NOTE: You only need to create a new AvamarBackupUseruser account if you want to perform message-level backupsand recoveries. Otherwise, Avamar already creates a backupuser account with the needed permissions when the Windowsclient and Exchange client are installed.AVAMAR 5.0 • AVAMAR EXCHANGE CLIENT USER GUIDE 78
