Uninstalling an Older Version of Cluster <strong>Client</strong> and Upgrading to <strong>Exchange</strong> Cluster <strong>Client</strong>INSTALLING/UNINSTALLING AVAMAR EXCHANGE CLIENTUninstalling an Older Version of Cluster <strong>Client</strong> andUpgrading to <strong>Exchange</strong> Cluster <strong>Client</strong>To uninstall an older version of cluster client:1. Take the cluster offline with the cluster administration tool thatcorresponds with the version of Windows Server:(a) In Windows Server 2008, open Failover Cluster Management.-or-In Windows Server 2003 open Administrator Tools > ClusterAdministrator.(b) Right-click the Backup Agent service and take it offline.2. On the passive node, in Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all <strong>Avamar</strong>clients: Windows <strong>Client</strong>, <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>Client</strong>, and Windows <strong>Exchange</strong> Cluster<strong>Client</strong>.3. On the active node, in Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all <strong>Avamar</strong> clients:Windows <strong>Client</strong>, <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>Client</strong>, and Windows <strong>Exchange</strong> Cluster <strong>Client</strong>.4. Using the cluster administration tool again, delete the Backup Agentresource.Uninstall of all <strong>Avamar</strong> clients on the passive and active nodes is complete.To upgrade to <strong>Exchange</strong> Cluster <strong>Client</strong>:NOTE: When installing the clients, use the same var folderas the previous <strong>Avamar</strong> installation. Uninstall does notremove this folder, so your config and log files will still beavailable there.1. Install the Windows <strong>Client</strong> on each node, following the steps in Installingthe <strong>Avamar</strong> Windows <strong>Client</strong> (page 21).2. Install the <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>Client</strong> on each node, following the steps in Installingthe <strong>Avamar</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>Client</strong> (page 22).3. Optional. Only required if you intend to perform message level backupsand restores:Configuring an <strong>Exchange</strong> Server 2007 Server for Message Level Backupsand Restores (page 23)- or -Configuring an <strong>Exchange</strong> Server 2003 Server for Message Level Backupsand Restores (page 29)Use the correct procedure for your version of Microsoft <strong>Exchange</strong>.4.
