Configuring an Exchange Server 2007 Server for Message Level Backups and RestoresConfiguring an Exchange Server 2007 Serverfor Message Level Backups and RestoresINSTALLING/UNINSTALLING AVAMAR EXCHANGE CLIENTTIP: If you do not intend to perform message level backupsand restores of your Exchange Server 2007 server (yourintent is to only perform full database backups andrestores), you can skip this procedure.IMPORTANT: If your Exchange Server 2007 server isdeployed in a high-availability configuration using Windowsclusters, you must perform this entire procedure on all nodesin the cluster with the exception that only the active nodecan have the backup agent service running at any one time.However, all nodes (including inactive nodes) must be configuredto start and run the backup service as AvamarBackupUser.Task ListIf you intend to perform message level backups and restores of an ExchangeServer 2007 server, you must perform all the following tasks:• Download and Install MAPI Client Libraries and CDO 1.2.1 Build 6.5.8153.0or later (page 24)• Create New “AvamarBackupUser” User Account and Mailbox That UsesStatic Profile (64-bit) (page 24)- or -• Create New “AvamarBackupUser” User Account and Mailbox That Uses aTemporary MAPI profile (64-bit) (page 27)NOTE: EMC Avamar Exchange Client 5.0 introduces a newwizard to configure the AvamarBackupUser account with thecorrect settings needed for message-level backups andrecoveries. However, some users may prefer to manuallycreate the AvamarBackupUser account using the methodsavailable in Avamar Exchange Client 4.1 and earlier.
