The functions outlined below, such as DISPLAY DAMPING, forexample, are described in detail in the "Description of Device Functions" manual.Measured-value reading fluctuateseven though flow is steady.1. Check the fluid for presence of gas bubbles.2. TIME CONSTANT function increase value ( OUTPUTS / CURRENT OUTPUT / CONFIGURATION3. DISPLAY DAMPING function increase value ( USER INTERFACE / CONTROL / BASIC CONFIGURATION)Flow values are negative, even thoughthe fluid is flowing forwards throughthe pipe.Change the setting in the INSTALLATION DIRECTION SENSOR function accordinglyMeasured-value reading or measuredvalueoutput pulsates or fluctuates, e.g.because of reciprocating pump, peristaltic pump, diaphragm pump orpump with similar deliverycharacteristic.Run the "Pulsating Flow" Quick Setup ä 62.If the problem persists despite these measures, a pulsation damper will have to be installed between pump and measuringdevice. There are differences between theflowmeter's internal totalizer and theexternal metering device. This symptom is due primarily to backflow in the piping, because the pulse output cannot subtract in the "STANDARD" or"SYMMETRY" measuring modes. The problem can be solved as follows:Allow for flow in both directions. Set the MEASURING MODE function to "Pulsating Flow" for the pulse output inquestion.Measured value reading shown ondisplay, even though the fluid is at astandstill and the measuring tube is full.1. Check the fluid for presence of gas bubbles.2. Activate the ON-VAL. LF-CUTOFF function, i.e. enter or increase the value for the low flow cut off ( BASICFUNCTION / PROCESS PARAMETER / CONFIGURATION).The fault cannot be rectified or someother fault not described above hasarisen. In these instances, please contact yourE+H service organization. The following options are available for tackling problems of this nature:Request the services of an service technicianIf you contact our service organization to have a service technician sent out, please be ready to quote the followinginformation:– Brief description of the fault– Nameplate specifications: order code, serial number ä 7Returning devices to Carry out the measures listed before you return a flowmeter requiring repair or calibration to . ä 107Always enclose a duly completed "Declaration of contamination" form with the flowmeter.
