EscProline Promass 83 Modbus RS485Commissioning!Note!6.3.4 Quick Setup "Gas Measurement"The measuring device is not only suitable for measuring liquid flow. Direct mass measurementbased on the Coriolis principle is also possible for measuring the flow rate of gases.• Before carrying out the Quick Setup "Gas measurement" the Quick Setup "Commissioning" hasto be executed ä 60.• Only mass and Corrected volume flow can be measured and output with the gas measurementmode. Note that direct density and/or volume measurement is not possible!• The flow ranges and measuring accuracy that apply to gas measurement are not the same as thosefor liquids.• If corrected volume flow (e.g. in Nm /h) is to be measured and output instead of the mass flow(e.g. in kg/h), change the setting for the CORRECTED VOLUME CALCULATION function to"FIXED REFERENCE DENSITY" in the "Commissioning" Quick Setup menu.Corrected volume flow can be assigned as follows:– to a display line– to the current output– to the pulse/frequency output.Performing the "Gas Measurement" Quick SetupThis Quick Setup menu guides you systematically through the setup procedure for all the devicefunctions that have to be parameterized and configured for gas measurement.XXX.XXX.XX-+EHOMEPOSITIONE++QuickSetupBE1004SetupGas measurement6400AssignLow flow cut off6402On valueLow flow cut off6403Off valueLow flow cut offFig. 45: Quick Setup "Gas Measurement"Recommended settings are found on the following page.a0002618 enIssue/Rev. 0.2 (12/12) MN0M030 • Page 69
