Proline Promass 83 Modbus RS485InstallationOrientation Promass F, E, H, I, S, P, O, XMake sure that the direction of the arrow on the nameplate of the sensor matches the direction offlow (direction in which the fluid flows through the pipe).Vertical:Recommended orientation with upward direction of flow (Fig. V). When fluid is not flowing,entrained solids will sink down and gases will rise away from the measuring tube. The measuring tubes can be completely drained and protected against solids buildup.Horizontal (Promass F, E, O):The measuring tubes of Promass F, E and O must be horizontal and beside each other. Therefore the unit is installed horizontally, adapt the sensor position to the fluidproperties:• Suitable to a limited extent for fluids with entrained solids.
