Statement of PurposeThe <strong>Calhoun</strong> <strong>County</strong> School District is committed to the goal of providing qualityeducation for every child in this district. To this end, we want to establish partnershipswith parents and with the community. Everyone gains if school and home work togetherto promote high achievement by our children. Neither home nor school can do the jobalone. Parents play an extremely important role as children’s first teachers. Theirsupport for their children and for the school is critical to their children’s success at everystep along the way.Grade level goals for the children of the school district will be distributed to all parents inthe district, with the expectation that all students will work toward these goals. Werecognize that some students may need the extra assistance available through the TitleI program to reach those goals. The <strong>Calhoun</strong> <strong>County</strong> School District intends to includeparents in all aspects of the district’s Title I program. The goal is a school-homepartnership that will help all students in the district to succeed.2. Parental Involvement in Developing the PolicyAn Advisory Council consisting of parents, classroom teachers, members of thecommunity, support staff, local school administrators, and central office staff will meet todevelop and then review annually, our school district’s Parental Involvement Policy.Our Advisory Council will be chosen from volunteers from each local school and eacharea of representation. Special attention will be given to recruiting parents of children inthe Title I program.
