Thus, no person may receive a mealwithout appropriate payment to the CNP program.The Superintendent is authorized to develop procedures for establishing localschool meal funds / temporary loans from non-public sources in an effort to ensure thateach student is fed daily.Adopted: 09/11/01OVERVIEW OF CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM8.01.01Calhoun County Schools shall maintain a quality Child Nutrition Program (CNP)as a service to the students. All lunches served shall meet the standards as provided infederal, state, and local laws and /or rules and regulations.The Director of CNP and other CNP personnel shall always seeks to providestudents with a nutritious and well-balanced meal at a nominal charge. The programshall be operated in an economically sound manner.Student participation in the program shall be subject to Board policy, and suchrules and regulations as may be developed by local schools consistent with Boardpolicy.Free and reduced-priced lunches shall be available to qualified students. TheCNP director, through local school administrators, will disseminate informationconcerning free and reduced-priced lunches to all students in the system.Adopted: 03/23/78 (School Lunch Service)Revised: 02/28/02APPLICATION FOR FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE MEALS8.01.02It is the policy of the Board to provide meals free or at a reduced price to thosechildren determined eligible through the application process.
