7 Acquiring ECG ReportsPlain Paper PrintingThe Atria can be configured to print ECGs to a plain paper printer.!CautionData loss. Always check plain paper printouts before disconnecting thepatient and ending the procedure.Printing Problems (Thermal Printer)If the Atria runs out of paper or if the paper jams while printing an ECG,either reload the paper and continue printing, or press [Stop] to save therecord without printing. For paper loading instructions see “Loading Recording Paper” on pg. 2-5 orpress [ALT] + [H] to access the Help menu and then select Loading Paper.Saving ReportsThe Atria automatically saves ECGs. If the Atria is set up for networkaccess, the ECG can also be automatically sent or emailed. For moreinformation, see “Sequence” on pg. 4-5.NOTE: To disable automatic saving of ECG reports, see“Auto Save” on pg. 4-5.After the ECG has been saved, the Patient Review menu is displayed. See“How to Display a Patient Record” on pg. 8-2.ECG TipsPatient Data and Interpretation• Enter all patient information. Some patient informationdirectly affects ECG analysis. The physician uses thisinformation when interpreting ECG reports. Also, aninterpretive Atria provides more accurate and completeanalysis statements when patient information is complete.• Enter patient information at any time (either before or afterthe ECG). Changing age, gender, race, medication or clinicalclassification after acquisition, causes the interpretive Atriato prompt to reanalyze the data. Any changes ininterpretation are included in future printouts. If the data isnot reanalyzed, edits are not saved.7-4 Atria Electrocardiograph Operating Instructions

Change Recorder Speed, Gain, Frequency ResponseAcquiring a Clean Trace• To obtain a clean trace with very little noise, ensure Wait forGood Data is set to ON in the ECG menu. If there is a problemduring a recording, the Atria displays a message. Ifnecessary, override the error message and continuerecording by pressing the [ECG] key again (for moreinformation, see “Wait for good data” on pg. 4-5).NOTE: If Wait for Good Data is set to ON in the ECG menu, then it is possible to press [ECG] prior to connecting thepatient. The Atria waits until all leads are connected and theacquired ECG traces settle (the Atria detects good data)before automatically starting the ECG.Change Recorder Speed, Gain, Frequency ResponseTo temporarily change print settings for the current patient use thefollowing shortcuts:Key Description Selections[7] Select paper speed 12.5 mm/s25 mm/s50 mm/s[8] Selects the ECG gain 5mm/mV10 mm/mV20 mm/mVL10,C5 mm/mVL20, C10 mm/mV[9] Toggles the upper ECG filter frequency response 40 Hz150 HzNOTE: The updated settings remain in effect untilchanged again or the Atria is restarted.Atria Electrocardiograph Operating Instructions 7-5
