7 Acquiring ECG ReportsEnter Patient DemographicsOnce patient demographics are entered, it is not necessary to immediatelyacquire an ECG. The <strong>Atria</strong> allows multiple patients to be entered at thesame time. When acquiring an ECG for a particular patient, select theappropriate patient from the patient directory.1. Press [On/Stby] if necessary.2. Perform one of the following:• Press [Patient] select Enter New Patient and enter the newinformation as prompted.• Press [Directory] select Enter New Patient the newinformation as prompted.• Press [Directory] select View Patient Directory and select anexisting patient. Edit the existing information as necessaryNOTE: For a complete description of the patientdemographic fields, see “Patient Demographics” on pg. 7-7.Acquire ECGNOTE:Press [Stop] at any time to halt an ECG.1. Press [Home].2. Verify the patient’s heart rate displays on the Home screen. If the <strong>Atria</strong>does not display the heart rate, check the problem leads listed on thedisplay. Replace faulty electrodes if necessary.3. Press [ECG].4. Use the navigation buttons to display Acquire ECG, current patient datathen press [Select].NOTE: If patient demographics are in the process of beingentered, the <strong>Atria</strong> prompts to use those demographics for theECG. If not used, the demographics are not saved.NOTE: The recorder speed, gain and frequency responsesettings can be temporarily modified if necessary.
