Miscellaneous information:
[ 1 ] All charge outputs can be used with 1 cell or more provided that the charge current is at least
3 C and temperature monitoring is used for charging. Peak detection is too unreliable in such
cases.
- Total power dissipation of > 60 W can result in system shut-down due to overheating.
- No-load current drain: approx. 200 mA
- Power supply: 11 - 15.2 V
- All data assumes a car battery voltage of 12 V ... 13.8 V DC
- Recommended car battery: 12 V / 36 Ah or larger; must be fully charged to charge 7 cells!
- Recommended mains PSU: 13.8V (required to charge 7 cells), ideally switchable to 12 V (recommended
for charging 6 cells, as the ecolader stays cooler; current: 20/22 A.
14.2 Other features
- fully automatic charge current calculation, patent applied for
- All battery outputs can be used simultaneously
- All battery outputs suitable for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries
- Safety charge termination after selectable charge times
- Safety charge termination according to selectable charge quantity
- Safety charge termination according to selectable temperature (selectable battery output)
- Low voltage warning, selectable within the range 10.4 - 11.6 V
- Low voltage shut-down at 0.5 V below warning threshold
- Electronic circuit-breaker in the + 12 V line for external connections
ecolader select:
- Precision 8-channel 12-bit analogue-digital converter provides selection facility for individual
battery cells
- Socket for external discharge load resistances (for 6-cell batteries preferably 0.40 Ohm, 300 W)
14.3 Default settings for battery programs and charger
See Section 8.21; the default values are also underlined in the value ranges stated in the sub-sections
of Section 8.
