Today the reach of television and film has increased dramatically as it has crosseddifferent media formats and the barrier of language and distance as well. Television and filmproduction combines the cutting edge of today's technology with creativity. The need fortelevision and film production professionals has risen in the past years as many more networkshave opened up, on large and small scales all over the world. Internet film platforms have alsoopened a large number of production opportunities. The career option is not only a challengingone but there are also numerous job opportunities available as well as a tremendous scope forfurther development.This course aims at developing skill on film making for television. Various areas oftraining include Script writing for short films, about lighting and lenses, evaluating lighting fordifferent sets, working with studios and exteriors, operating sound equipment, editing theory andthe different types of microphones that are used. In this program, participants are also taughtabout the administrative aspects of film and television production and specific roles of thedirector and assistant director. Students understand and learn how to communicate with the castand crew and grasp the importance of dramatic structure. They also study film theory, visualstorytelling, documentary filmmaking, art direction and post production techniques. Students aretaught the technical details of interacting with people on the set in these television and filmproduction programs. Graduates often find immediate employment on completion of theirtelevision and film production course, or opt to start their own production project. Some studentsalso go in for specialization in particular aspects of film and television production.Video film making has found its place in modern Teaching-learning process as well as indeveloping a variety of films including documentaries, corporate training content, prototypedevelopment in architectural projects, simulation of new technology and developing games tomention a few.
