Today the reach of television and film has <strong>in</strong>creased dramatically as it has crosseddifferent media formats and the barrier of language and distance as well. Television and filmproduction comb<strong>in</strong>es the cutt<strong>in</strong>g edge of today's technology with creativity. The need fortelevision and film production professionals has risen <strong>in</strong> the past years as many more networkshave opened up, on large and small scales all over the world. Internet film platforms have alsoopened a large number of production opportunities. The career option is not only a challeng<strong>in</strong>gone but there are also numerous job opportunities available as well as a tremendous scope forfurther development.This course aims at develop<strong>in</strong>g skill on film mak<strong>in</strong>g for television. Various areas oftra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>clude Script writ<strong>in</strong>g for short films, about light<strong>in</strong>g and lenses, evaluat<strong>in</strong>g light<strong>in</strong>g fordifferent sets, work<strong>in</strong>g with studios and exteriors, operat<strong>in</strong>g sound equipment, edit<strong>in</strong>g theory andthe different types of microphones that are used. In this program, participants are also taughtabout the adm<strong>in</strong>istrative aspects of film and television production and specific roles of thedirector and assistant director. Students understand and learn how to communicate with the castand crew and grasp the importance of dramatic structure. They also study film theory, visualstorytell<strong>in</strong>g, documentary filmmak<strong>in</strong>g, art direction and post production techniques. Students aretaught the technical details of <strong>in</strong>teract<strong>in</strong>g with people on the set <strong>in</strong> these television and filmproduction programs. Graduates often f<strong>in</strong>d immediate employment on completion of theirtelevision and film production course, or opt to start their own production project. Some studentsalso go <strong>in</strong> for specialization <strong>in</strong> particular aspects of film and television production.<strong>Video</strong> film mak<strong>in</strong>g has found its place <strong>in</strong> modern Teach<strong>in</strong>g-learn<strong>in</strong>g process as well as <strong>in</strong>develop<strong>in</strong>g a variety of films <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g documentaries, corporate tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g content, prototypedevelopment <strong>in</strong> architectural projects, simulation of new technology and develop<strong>in</strong>g games tomention a few.
