Meanwhile, companies areincreasingly investing in the measurementand control of the <strong>quality</strong> of the electricsupply to avoid the costs generally associatedwith productive processes.It has become essential to control not onlythe costs associated with the supply’s lackof continuity, but also those associated withits lack of <strong>quality</strong>. It is of vital importanceto supervise the smooth operation of theinstallation and the equipment connectedto it, and to conduct proper energy managementto avoid the unnecessary overconsumption.The globalization of markets also givesthe various actors involved in the electricalenergy generation, transport and consumptionprocesses the need to talk on equalterms in order to face the new challengesahead that come along with the optimisationof both distribution lines and electricalinstallations. The future of Smart Grids iscurrently making a strong impact on the entirenetwork of electrical distribution lines,allowing automation of substations and optimisingof existing resources.Measurement in various points on the distributionlines makes it necessary to haveequipment that guarantees, on the onehand, the absolute validity of the measurement(in compliance with the IEC-61000-4-30 standard), and on the other hand,proven robustness when implementedin complex environments. We are talkingabout equipment of reference for utilitiesthroughout the world in very different environmentsand distribution lines. At thesame time, companies are operating inincreasingly global environments, forcingthem to be more competitive and to optimisetheir processes. Therefore, the electricaldisturbances affecting productive processesin companies must be analysed andstudied with the purpose of improving andprotecting installations against such disturbances.Q.2Q2-3
