So we’ve produced this leaflet to highlight some of the mainchanges that may affect your journey between Saturday 24August and Tuesday 27 August.What are we doing?We’re working hard with Network Rail and all other train operatorsto provide a <strong>more</strong> robust and reliable railway for you in 2013.The reason we schedule our improvement works during theAugust Bank Holiday weekend is that this is traditionally a quiettime for rail travel across the UK.A little bonus...Off-Peak tickets are valid at any time from Saturday 24 Augustuntil Monday 26 August.Save money and travel on any of our services on an Off-Peakticket. LondoSunday 25 AugustR<strong>out</strong>e Improvement work affecting <strong>Virgin</strong> <strong>Trains</strong> will be takingplace in the following areas:• Watford Junction to Rugby (until 13.00)• Watford Junction to Milton Keynes Central (from 13.00)• Birmingham New Street (Gateway Project)• Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly (until 16.45)With the r<strong>out</strong>e to/from London Euston blocked at WatfordJunction all day, we will be starting/terminating all our servicesat Rugby until 13.00, and then at Milton Keynes Central from13.00. If you need to travel to/from London Euston you can takeour hourly West Coast Replacement Shuttle service to/fromBirmingham International via the Chiltern r<strong>out</strong>e.As trains are not able to use Stockport station until after 16.45,a revised timetable will operate until then on the Rugby/MiltonKeynes Central to Manchester r<strong>out</strong>e. These services will bediverted through the West Midlands and will approach/departfrom Manchester Piccadilly via a local diversion in theWilmslow area.If you're travelling to Stoke-on-Trent please use services on ourLiverpool Lime Street r<strong>out</strong>e.
