If <strong>the</strong>y sensedanger, <strong>the</strong> adults im<strong>me</strong>diately form a circlearound <strong>the</strong> baby elephants <strong>to</strong> protect <strong>the</strong>m,mov<strong>in</strong>g on only when it’s safe <strong>to</strong> do so.But <strong>the</strong> park is also ho<strong>me</strong> <strong>to</strong> many o<strong>the</strong>r animalssuch as hippos who also love wallow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> waterand whose heavy breath<strong>in</strong>g you can hear from yourvehicle, giraffe, Grant gazelle, zebra, wildebeest ando<strong>the</strong>rs. Day 6 26 AugustAmboseli <strong>to</strong> Samburu National ReserveAfter breakfast <strong>to</strong>day, we fly via Nairobi <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>Samburu National Reserve. Closer <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> equa<strong>to</strong>rand <strong>the</strong>refore hot and dry, Samburu is quite acontrast <strong>to</strong> Amboseli, <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g a different landscapeand a different ga<strong>me</strong> view<strong>in</strong>g experience. Aga<strong>in</strong>we travel by safari vehicles, each tak<strong>in</strong>g a maximum<strong>of</strong> 6 people and with a guaranteed ‘w<strong>in</strong>dow’ seatfor everyone. 1 2Day 12 1 September Masai Mara <strong>to</strong> Mara Bush<strong>to</strong>psAfter breakfast, we leave Little Governors’ andtransfer <strong>to</strong> our next safari camp by road. Our LittleGovernors’ drivers take us on an excit<strong>in</strong>g ga<strong>me</strong> drive<strong>to</strong> Talek Bridge where our drivers from <strong>the</strong> next safaricamp – Mara Bush<strong>to</strong>ps – will be wait<strong>in</strong>g for us.Chang<strong>in</strong>g vehicles, we cont<strong>in</strong>ue <strong>the</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>journey <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> deluxe Mara Bush<strong>to</strong>ps camp whichhas just 12 stylish tents. Each tent has its own butlerand outstand<strong>in</strong>g levels <strong>of</strong> design sophistication witha private deck area, sun loungers, telescope and hottub. S<strong>in</strong>ce this is our fifth day <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Masai Mara,we hope <strong>to</strong> have had plenty <strong>of</strong> opportunity <strong>to</strong> witness <strong>the</strong> migration <strong>in</strong> thisarea with its high concentration <strong>of</strong> wildlife. The river cross<strong>in</strong>g is generallystarted by zebra – despite <strong>the</strong> fact that <strong>the</strong>ir black and white stripes all look<strong>the</strong> sa<strong>me</strong>, each zebra has its own unique pattern<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> stripes, just like af<strong>in</strong>gerpr<strong>in</strong>t.
