The ϕ* parameter<br />
• (d,d)-source: ϕ* ~ 1.35<br />
• (d,t)-source: ϕ* ~ 2.15<br />
• Spallation source: ϕ* ~ 2.25<br />
(Average Fission Neutron: ϕ* ~ 1.0)<br />
The fraction of high-energy neutrons (17% with E n > 20<br />
MeV) in the spallation source, contribute for 50 % to the<br />
total number of fission neutrons produced in the core.<br />
