RESEARCH CHALLENGES<br />
Several open scientific problems have been identified which should be<br />
considered in order to allow for more reliable inter- and extrapolation of<br />
not available or not measurable quantities<br />
• Consi<strong>st</strong>ent analysis of overlapping resonances<br />
• Level densities at high excitations<br />
• Improved description of fission<br />
• Onset of precompound reactions (especially for capture reactions)<br />
• Improvements of multi-<strong>st</strong>ep direct reaction theory<br />
• inclusion of evaluations resulting from modelling into a consi<strong>st</strong>ent<br />
covariance analysis<br />
