Organizations and Behavior<br />
Study of the principles of management and the concepts of general<br />
and specific individual human behavior within organizations.<br />
Attention is given to applying the principles of management to general<br />
and functional management of enterprises by concentrating on<br />
problem-solving and analysis techniques and examines behavior at<br />
the individual, group, and organizational levels of analysis. Topics<br />
include: individual differences, motivation, small groups, leadership,<br />
Contigency Theory and organizational culture. Prerequisite: junior<br />

BUS 306 Advanced Topics in 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Financial Accounting<br />
The study of topical advanced accounting issues. This course<br />
emphasizes international financial reporting, information on partnerships<br />
and operations, government accounting, business combinations,<br />
and consolidated financial statements. Prerequisite: BUS 212.<br />

Study of the general principles and standards of ethics and Judeo-<br />
Christian values applied to business and professional codes and practices.<br />

BUS 309 Consumer Behavior 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Comprehensive study of the buyer decision-making process offering<br />
insight into the buyer-seller relationship (consumer, industrial and<br />
organizational). Behavioral sciences are used as a background for the<br />
social, psychological and human evaluation or current marketing<br />
activities. Topics include: attitude formation and change; motivation;<br />
personality; social/cultural forces; and strategies of market segmentation<br />
and positioning. Prerequisites: BUS 106,1<strong>07</strong>,108, 216. Offered<br />

BUS 311 Marketing Analysis 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Introduction to the major areas of market research, including survey,<br />
experimental and field research design, practice and problem definition,<br />
questionnaire design, and collection, analysis, interpretation and<br />
presentation of survey data. Prerequisites: BUS 216 and 220;<br />
Economics 201-202. Offered every spring semester.<br />

Nature, mechanism and risks of investments; analysis of securities<br />
with emphasis on those of corporations, formulation of investment<br />
policies for individuals, institutions, and trust funds. Prerequisite:<br />

BUS 316 Marketing Communications 3 sem. hrs.<br />
This course introduces the student to communication tools used in<br />
the marketing environment.<br />
An integrated approach, coordinating promotion and other marketing<br />
efforts, used to ensure the maximum informational and persuasive<br />
impact on customers will be examined in qualitative and quantitative<br />
ways. The promotional mix will also be examined with regard to<br />
effectiveness and efficiency in delivering marketing messages.<br />

BUS 318 Human Resource 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Foundations<br />
Study of the principles, practices, and problems of human resource<br />
management. Emphasis on planning, organizing and controlling the<br />
organization's human participants with the goal of realizing human<br />
potential. Traditional tools of HR management are supplemented<br />
with contemporary ideas. Human resource issues concerned with the<br />
formal structure design and informal culture are examined with<br />
attention to motivation, development, performance and appraisal,<br />
communication, decision making and conflict resolution. Cases of<br />
actual practice are discussed and a project is required. (Formerly<br />
BUS 403). Prerequisite: Junior status. Offered fall semester.<br />
BUS 319 Managerial Negotiations 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Exploration of the process and dynamics of the numerous negotiations<br />
and conflict resolution efforts occurring continuously within<br />
organizations. Reviews the major concepts and theories of the psychology<br />
of bargaining and negotiations and handling of group conflicts.<br />
Course utilizes cases and simulation exercises. Prerequisite:<br />
BUS 318; Junior status. Offered spring semester.<br />
BUS 320 Quantitative Methods II, 3 sem. hrs.<br />
Decision Models<br />
The study of selected math-based models used by organization decision<br />
makers in analyzing frequently encountered decisions. Topics<br />
include: decision theory, forecasting and time series analysis, linear<br />
programming, project scheduling and simulation. Prerequisite; BUS<br />
220; Junior status. Offered fall and spring semesters.<br />

Systems<br />

structures and development of effective data-based management<br />
systems, including analysis of appropriate hardware, software, and<br />

Concepts and methods of systems analysis and design; includes a<br />
