Slovenia borders Italy,Austria,Hungary and Croatia, and contains the south eastern part of theAlps Centre of Plant Diversity. Slovenia’s natural vegetationconsists mainly of deciduous and mixed forests from the lowlandto montane belt, coniferous forests in the upper montane belt andsubalpine to alpine grassland and shrub vegetation. It is wellknown for the semi-natural grasslands of the limestone Krasregion.
