51Committee of management: proceduresPrincipal and Senior Management TeamIJKThe committee of management shall decide its own pattern ofmeetings, subject to the proviso that at least two meetings ineach calendar year must be held.The committee of management shall be quorate if more than50 per cent of its membership is present or if either more than50 per cent of its membership is present or two-thirds of theuser groups are represented.At meetings of the committee of management, when a vote istaken, a matter shall be determined by the majority of themembers present and voting on the matter. In the case ofequality of votes, the Chair shall have the casting vote.Code of PracticeThe Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre exists to serve the religiousneeds of all worshipping groups within the College. In order tofacilitate this, whilst in the Centre all user groups are expected toexercise self-restraint and a concern for the freedom and dignity ofothers.ABRespecting other people’s freedom within the law to expresstheir beliefs and convictions in worship and prayer.Respecting the convictions of others about food, dress andsocial etiquette and not behaving in ways that cause offence.LThe committee of management may appoint such subcommitteesas it thinks fit and may as it wishes delegatefunctions to such sub-committees.CAlways avoiding violence in relationships, in particular avoidingviolent action or language, threats, manipulation, improperinducements, or the misuse of any kind of power.Booking procedures and securityMNThe Board of Governors has determined that booking of thetwo worship rooms shall be through the existing College roombookingsystem.Any issues that are not settled through thisprocedure shall be resolved by the Principal and the SeniorManagement Team.The Board of Governors has determined that access to theaccommodation between 19.00 and 7.00 shall be via theexternal door, keys for which will be held by the secretary ofthe committee of management (at other times internal accessshall be controlled as for other areas of the College).DENot misrepresenting or disparaging other people’s beliefs andpractices.Not actively seeking to persuade others to join their faith.Should any member of the Management Committee be found to beinfringing the Code of Practice, the Committee may refer thematter to the Principal and Senior Management Team for furtherinvestigation.The College reserves the right to withdrawrecognition from a religious representative.Instruments of Management: modificationOIt shall be open to the committee of management torecommend to the Principal and Senior Management Teamchanges to the Instruments of Management. Notice of suchchanges must have been given to all members of thecommittee at least two weeks before the meeting at whichthey are considered, and before a recommendation may bemade to the Principal and Senior Management Team, it mustbe supported by two-thirds of the membership of thecommittee of management who are present and voting.
