The proposition submitted to the qualified electors <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> at the aforesaidSpecial Bond Election, to-wit:PROPOSITIONShall the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi, issue its Electric PlantRevenue Bonds in the maximum amount <strong>of</strong> Seventy-five Thousand Dollars,($75,000.00), for the construction <strong>of</strong> a substation and the erection <strong>of</strong>a transmission line from the Tennessee Valle.y Authority substation tothe new city subs~at~on and to make necessary extensions a~ improvementsto the present distribution system <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>?was assented to and approved b,y a majority <strong>of</strong> the qualified electors <strong>of</strong> the said <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>who voted in said election.3. The <strong>City</strong>, <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, lfississippi, is now authorized and empowered to issue its bonds inthe amount <strong>of</strong> Seventy-five thousand & NollOO Dollars ($75,000.00) for the purposes stated inthe abo'ft-quotedProposition, in accordance with Mississippi Laws <strong>of</strong> 1936, Chapter 185, beingMississippi Code <strong>of</strong> 1942, Sections 5526-5550.Alderman H. S. Sisk seconded the motion to adopt the f'oregoing Resolution, and, the questionbeing put to a roll-call vote, the result was as follews:Alderman A. H. Avent voted. Yea.Alderman B. J. Hilbtm voted Yea.Alderman H. S. Sisk voted Yea.Alderman T. E. Combs voted . Absent.Alderman W. T. S. Sisk moved andAlderman A. H. Avent seconded the motion to furnish the labor for the up-keep <strong>of</strong> St. Peter'sCemetery rather than contribute the sum <strong>of</strong> $300.00 as requested by the cemetery committee.Pursuant to "Notice to Bidders" the following bid on slag was accepted:Birmingham Slag Co., Birmingham, Ala. - 600 tons Coarse Slag No. 4A $1.25 per ton- 560 " Fine Slag No. 5 $1.35 per tonThis being the only bid submitted it lnIs moved by Alderman A. H. Avent, seconded by Alderman BenJ.
