Upon motion by Alderman H. S.Sisk, seconded.by Alderman A. H. That, acting under and pursuant to a certain resolution adopted by you on the7th day of April, 1950, entitled:"A RESOLDTION CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL BOND ELECTIONWITHIN THE CITY OF OXFORD, LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OFSUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSITION FOR THE ISSUANCEOF ELECTRIC PLANT REVENUE BONDS'IN THE MAXIMUM AK>UNT OF $75,000.00 FOR THE CON­STRUCTION OF A SUBSTATION AND TRANSMISSION LINE AND OTHER NECESSARY IMPROVEMENTSTO THE PRESENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF SAID CITY,"the City Clerk and 'W'8 did cause notices of said election to be published in The OxfordEagle, a nCNspaper published in the City of Oxford, Lafayette County, Mississippi; aaidnotioe marked Exhibit "A" heretofore being published in said newspaper on April 13, 20and Z7, 1950, and said notioe marked Exhibit "B" being published by us on April 20 andZ7, 1950, a~ ~s shown by the publishers' affidavits, with cli.,J'Pings attached, vhichare annexed to this report and marked Exhibits "A" and "B".2. That as required by Section 3239 or the Mississippi Code or 1942, w, theundersigned, did meet at the office of the Registrar in Oxford, Mississippi, on Thursday,the 27th day of April, 1950, being rive days before the date of the aforesaid eleotion,and did caretully revise the registration books and the poll books, and did erase therefromthe names or all persons erroneously thereon, or who had died, removed, or becomedisqualified as electors frOll a.ny cause J and did register the names of all persons whohad duly applied to be registered and who had been illegally denied registration; and didthereupon find and asoertain that the total number of electors or said City qualified tovote at the aforesaid election vas thirteen hundred and one (1,301). ,3.
