Fulmer, Deputy Clerk, brought to the attention <strong>of</strong> the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermensome outstanding indebtedness that should be taken care <strong>of</strong>, and since the <strong>City</strong> did not havethe funds to take care <strong>of</strong> same immediately, the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen took up forconsideration the matter <strong>of</strong> borrowing the sum <strong>of</strong> $32,500.00 for the following purposes:Note at the First National Bank ----------------------------- $5,003.33Note at the First National Bank ------------------------ ---- $5,779.54Reimbursement due Special Street J~Jprovement Fund # 2 ----- $15,972.00To pay the balance <strong>of</strong> money due on tractor ---------------- $5,646.62Upon motion made by Alderman B. O. Elliott, seconded by Alderman B. J. Hilbun andpassed unanimously the following resolution was adopted:Be and is hereby resolved that the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, 11ississippi be and ithereby is authorized to borrow the sum <strong>of</strong> $5,600.00 for the current expenses <strong>of</strong>said municipality in anticipation <strong>of</strong> the ad valorem taxes to be collected for thecurrent fiscal year pursuant to and by virtue <strong>of</strong> section 3598-13 <strong>of</strong> the Mississippi.... ,Code<strong>of</strong> 1942 as amended.Said indebtedness shall be evidenced by a negotiable note signed and executedon behalf <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> by its Mayor and <strong>City</strong> Clerk.******~*****~************Upon motion made by Alderman B. O. Elliott, seconded. by Alderman Ben J. Hickey, seconded by Alderman B. O. Elliott andpassed unanimously, it was ordered that this Board do now recess until 7:30 P.
