472MINUTE BOOK No. <strong>14</strong>, CITY OF OXFORDDEMENT - MERIDIANment <strong>of</strong> this bond and the interest thereon as and when the same matures and accrues,the full faith, credit and resources <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi, are herebyirrevocable pledged.This bond is one <strong>of</strong> a series <strong>of</strong> one hundred one (101) bonds, numberedfrom One (1) to One Hundred One (101), inclusive, all <strong>of</strong> like date, tenor andeffect, except as to denomination and date <strong>of</strong> maturity, aggregating the principalamount <strong>of</strong> One Hundred Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-five Dollars and Eighty-fourCents ($100,485.84), issued under the authority <strong>of</strong> the Constitution and Laws <strong>of</strong>the state <strong>of</strong> Mississippi, including Chapter 495, Laws <strong>of</strong> Mississippi, <strong>1950</strong>, andTitle 18, Chapter 2, Article 2, Sections 4358 to 4370, inclusive, <strong>of</strong> the MississippiCode <strong>of</strong> 1942, and pursuant to an ordinance duly adopted and proceedings dulyhad by the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, for the purpose <strong>of</strong>taking up and redeeming a like principal amount <strong>of</strong> outstanding bonded indebtedness<strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong>.It is hereQy certified, recited and represented that all acts, conditionsand things required to exist, to happen, and to be performed precedent toand in the issuance <strong>of</strong> this bond,in order to make the same a legal, valid andbinding obligati~n <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, do exist ,have happened, and have beenperformed in regUlar and due form, time and manner, as required Qy law; that inthe event this bond or the issue <strong>of</strong> Which it is one should ever be held to be invalidQy any court <strong>of</strong> competent jurisdiction, the holder or holders <strong>of</strong> this bondand <strong>of</strong> the issue <strong>of</strong> which it is one, shall be subrogated to all <strong>of</strong> the rights andprivileges against the said <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> had and possessed Qy the holders <strong>of</strong> thebonded indebtedness which is refunded by this issue; that due porvision has beenand will be madefor the levy and collection <strong>of</strong> a direct an-nual tax upon all taxableproperty within the <strong>City</strong> sufficient to pay the interest on this bond asit accrues and to provide for the payment <strong>of</strong> this bond at maturity, and, in additionthereto, there are also pledged the assessments made and levied and to be madeand levied upon and against prope~y abutting on the streets described in the ordinancepursuant to which the aforesaid refunded indebtedness was incurred; and thatthe issue <strong>of</strong> bonds <strong>of</strong> which this bond is one, together with all other indebtedness<strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong>, does not exceed any limitation prescribed Qy the Constitution andStatutes <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> Mississippi.IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, MissiSSippi, has executedthis bond Qy causing it to be signed Qy the Mayor <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong>, countersignedQy the <strong>City</strong> Clerk, under the seal <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong>, and has caused the annexed interestcoupons to be executed Qy the facsimile signatures <strong>of</strong> said <strong>of</strong>ficers, andthis bond to be dated the first day <strong>of</strong> December, 1951CITY OF OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI,Countersigned:~~Yw;!!;kJ:ry
