Fulmer, Deputy City Clerk*********************After the meeting had been opened according to law, the following business was hadto-wit:Mr. Harrison brought to the attention of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen the need forwater meters and after a discussion of the matter, Alde~~n B. O. Elliott moved thatan invitation for bids on 50 water meters be published in The Oxford Eagle. This motionwas seconded b.Y Alderman W. T. Chandler, carried unanimously and it is so ordered.*****************************Guy B. Taylor appeared before the Mayor and Board of Aldermen representing the LafayetteCounty Fair Association asking for a contribution to the Fair Association and after adiscussion of the matter, Alderman B. O. Elliott made a motion that the City ofOxford contribute the same amount as said City contributed to the Fair Associationfor the year 1950, said amount being $300.00. This motion was seconded by AldermanW. T. Chandler, passed unanimously and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to issuea check in the amount of $300.00 for said purpose.**************************The remainder of the time was spent in the equalization of the 1951 Tax Roll.*************************On motion made, seconded and passed unanimously, it was ordered that this Board do nowrecess until 7:30 P. M., Tuesday, September 18, 1951.
