That the bonds described in the foregoing Propositionshall be issued only in the event that the issuance thereo£ be assentedto by J/5ths <strong>of</strong> the qualified electors <strong>of</strong> said District who voted on saidProposition at the aforesaid special election.Section g. That the <strong>City</strong> Clerk be and he is hereby authorized anddirected forthwith to publish a true and correct copy <strong>of</strong> this resolutionand to certify the same to the Election Commissioners within and for the<strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> Mississippi as and for their warrant and authority for theholding <strong>of</strong> sai~ election as herein provided and as provided by the State<strong>of</strong> Mississippi and W. W. Joor shall be and he is hereby designated to havethe ballots for said election printed.Alderman H. S. Sisk seconded the motion to adopt the foregoing resolution,and the question being put to a roll call vote, the result was as follows:Alderman B. O. Elliott voted Yea.Alderman Ben Jack Hilbun voted YeaAlderman W. T. Chandler voted YeaAlderman H. S .. Sisk voted YeaAlderman R. W. Hickey voted Yea.The motion having received the af£irmative vote <strong>of</strong> all <strong>of</strong> themembers present, the Mayor declared the motion carried and the resolutionadopted.~--~-----R. S. Sisk made a motionthat the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> cont.ribute $250.00 for the carrying out <strong>of</strong> the Welcome Partyprograme. This motion was seconded by Alderman Robert W. Hickey, passed unanimously,and the Clerk is hereby authorized to issue a check in the amount <strong>of</strong> $250.00 for thatpurpose.********************************Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> the tools used by the different departmentsin carrying on the work <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> and after a full discussion <strong>of</strong> the matter, motionwas made, seconded and passed unanimously and it was ordered that each department haveown tools and that the Foremen <strong>of</strong> each crew beheld responsible for tools used by hisdepartment.*******************************Came on for fiscussion the matter <strong>of</strong> the Fire DepartmQuiequipment being checked atregular intervals so as to always be ready for immediate use and after consideringthe matter, motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously, an3 it was ordered thatforms be prepared and turne(' over to the Night Firemen, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Lutherand said Night Firemen check all fire equipment and make a report to the Mayoreach week.*********************************Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> Leonard Reid, taxi driver, operating hiscab' in a reckless manner on the streets <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, and after a diSCUSsion <strong>of</strong> thematter, and a report made to the Mayor and Board by Mr. Newt King, motion was madeby Alderman Hickey that Mr. Reid's Permit No. 100 be suspended for one year. Thismotion \.las seconded by Alderman B. O. Elliott and passed unanimously and it is soordered.
