After a discussion <strong>of</strong> the matter, AldermanB. O. Elliott moved that the <strong>City</strong> grant Mr. White's request and place fire plug on spotselected provided Mr. White pay the <strong>City</strong> for the expense ,<strong>of</strong> installing same. He furthermoved that Mr. White also pay $20.00 each time the fire plug is used by said Mr. Whiteor anyone else and Mr. White will also be held responsible for breakage <strong>of</strong> fire plug.This motion was seconded by Alderman Robert W. Hickey, passed unanimously and it is soordered.***************************Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> delinquent inspection fees and after a fulldiscussion <strong>of</strong> the matter, Alderman Robert W. Hickey made a motion that the delinquentlist be turned over to Mr. lovelady and Mr. Lovelady is requested to write a letter toeach delinquent person or firm and request payment. He further moved if these inspectiondues are not paid innnediately that said firms and individuals will not be gramted permiSSionto make gas and electrical installations, and the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> will proceed with suitagainst said firms and individuals for collection. This ~otion was seconded by AldermanH. S. Sisk, passed unanimously and it is so ordered.**************************Came on for discussion the matter.<strong>of</strong> the purchase <strong>of</strong> a new car for the Police Departmentand after carefully consideringf' ~matter, Alderman B. O. Elliott moved that the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Oxford</strong> publish in The <strong>Oxford</strong> Eagle a request for bids on said car, asking for bids onstraight sales, and also for bids on trade-in sales. This motion was seconded by AldermanH. S. Sisk, passed unanimously and it is so ordered.**************************At the request <strong>of</strong> Mayor R. X. Williams, <strong>City</strong> Attorney, J. W. Price read the declarationheret<strong>of</strong>ore filed against the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> and Mrs. Dorotny Witt by Winford Rogers,and on motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously, the <strong>City</strong> Attorney wasinstructed to defend said suit on behalf <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>. The said <strong>City</strong> Attorneyto be paid the sum <strong>of</strong> $100.00 upon the filing <strong>of</strong> an answer and the additional sum. <strong>of</strong>$150.00 if it became necessary to try said case in the Circuit Court for his servicesin connection with the trial <strong>of</strong> said case.*************************An application from Mr. W. C. Babb to operate a taxi in the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> vas presentedto the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen, and after due consideration, Alderman Ben J. Hilbunmade a motion that this application be granted. This motion was seconded by AldermanRobert W. Hickey, and the application vas unanimously approved. Mr. Babb was given BadgeNo. 129.***************************On motion made, seconded and passed unanimously, it was ordered that this Board do nowrecess until 7:30 P.
