Fulmer, Deputy Clerk********************After the meeting had been called to order, the follrn·ling business was transact.ed:The follovling resolution was introduced:A RESOLUTION DETERHINING TO PROCEED H'ITH 'fHE SPECIAL INPROVENENTS AND ORDERINGTHE CITY ENGINEER TO PROCEED inTH THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID SPECIAL IMPROVENENTSON ALL THAT PORTION OF PRICE STREET LYING WEST OF THE POI~IT 'nIEP~ SAID PRICESTREET IS INTERSECTED BY SIVLEY STREET AS SAID PORTION OF PRICE STREET IS SHOWNAND DESIGNATED UPON THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI, ON FILEWITH THE CITY ENGINEER OF THE CITY OF OXFORD, HISSISSIPPI, AND lUTE THE CHlI.NCERYCLERK OF LAFAYETTE COu}ITY, MISSISSIPPI.SECTION 1. Be and it is hereby resolved by the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen<strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, MiSSissippi, that proceeding under the la,vS <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong>and the lavTS <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> Mississippi providing for the construction <strong>of</strong>special improvements in the municipalities <strong>of</strong> the State <strong>of</strong> Mississippi, it isadjudged necessary: that street grading, graveling and paving, sidewalks, curbsand gutters, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains and connections, fire hydrantsand other works and things appurtenant and incident thereto, be constructed over,across, under and along all that portion <strong>of</strong> Price Street lying west <strong>of</strong> the pointwhere said Price Street is intersected by Sivley Street as said portion <strong>of</strong> PriceStreet is shown and designated upon the <strong>of</strong>ficial map <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>,Mississippi, on file vlith the <strong>City</strong> Engineer <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi,and with the Chancery Clerk <strong>of</strong> Lafayette County, Mississippi, and as set forth in theplans and specifications <strong>of</strong> said special improvements on file with the <strong>City</strong>Engineer <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi.Whereas on April 10, 1951, at a Recess, Regular meeting <strong>of</strong> the Hayor andBoard <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi, a resolution was dulypassed declaring the construction <strong>of</strong> the aforementioned special improvementsnecessary; andWhereas, the <strong>City</strong> Clerk published said resolution in The <strong>Oxford</strong> Eagle, anewspaper published in the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi once a week for threesuccessive weeks on the following dates, to-wit: April 12, 19, and 26, 1951;andWhereas, fifteen days have elapsed since the first publication <strong>of</strong>this resolution; andWhereas,no one has appeared-,either in person, by attorney, or by instrumentd<strong>of</strong> vrri ting to protest said improvements, as provided by law they may do; anWhereas the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, MO.ssissippi,sitting to h~ar objections, protests and remonst:ances, if ~ny the:e be, ~gainstsaid special improvements on this, the date provl.ded for sal.d hearJ_ng, adJudgesthat no successful objections have been made and heard; and
