Turner notifying the Mayor and Boardof Aldermen that he would cease operation of the Oxford-University City Lines asof midnight April 30, 1951, and requesting that he be permitted to discontinue hisbus franchise until September 1, 1951. After a discussion of the matter, AldermanBen J. Hilbun moved that Mr. Turner be permitted to discontinue his bus service, butwhen and if he desires to stant operation again, he will be required to makeapplication and go through the same procedure as if he had never operated a bussystem in the City. This motion was seconded by Alderman B. O. Elliott, passedunanimously, and it is so ordered.***************************Came on for consideration the matter of paving Filmore Street, and after due discussionAlderman W. T. Chandler made a motion that the City Engineer be instructed to includethe four (4) feet in the width of Fillmore street makine its total width 34 feetinstead of the 30 feet as shot-m on the City map. He further moved that this extrawidth of Filbnore street to extend from South Lamar to South 14th street. Thismotion was seconded by Alderman B. O. Elliott and passed unanimously, and it isso ordered.**************************On motion made by Alderman B. O. Elliott, seconded by Alderman H. S. Sisk andpassed unanimously, it ,.,ras ordered that this Board do now recess until 7:30 P. M.,Friday April 27, 1951.
