Hilbun seconded the motion.The motion having received the affirmative vote of all members of theBoard of Aldermen, the Hayor declared the motion passed and the resolutionadopted unanimously.This resolution is this, the 10th day of April, 1951, approved.lsi Robert[:. X. \.Ji11iamsMayorMr. Phil Hu11en appeared before the Mayor and Board of Aldermen statingthat the Oxford Eagle had plans to prepare a Special Edition for theNorth Mississippi Hett-odist Conference, and Mr. l'fu11en requested that theMayor and Board of Aldermen agree to have a ~10 page advertisment in saidSpecial Edition for the City of Oxford. He stated that the above mentionedadvertisement "1Ould cost the City of Oxford f~)150.00. After a full discussionof the matter, Alderman Ben J. Hilbun moved that the City of Oxford give Mr.Hu11en and order for the advertisement in the Oxford Eae1e. This motion 'vasseconded by Alderman H. S. Sisk and passed unanimouly and it is so ordered.Came on for consideration the matter of repa~r~ng the aerator at theP01ver Plant. After a discussion of the matter, Alderman Ben J. Hilbunmoved that the City of Oxford advertise for bids on screen wire, hard­'·mre cloth and all materials to be used in said repairs. Alderman Hilbunfurther moved that }~. Harrison be authorized to prepare an outline foradvertisement of bids. Alderman B. O. Elliott seconded the motion,it passed unanimously and it is so ordered.****************~*~**************Came on for consideration the matter of the need of a new service truckfor the Light Department, and after a discussion of the matter, Alderman B. O.Elliott moved that Mr. Harrison be authorized to outline for truck completewith utility body, and advertise in The Oxford Eagle for se~e. AldermanH. S. Sisk seconded the motion, it ~~ssed unanimously and it is so ordered.*****************************Came on for consideration the matter of purchasing a hot water heater forthe Light Plant, and during the discussion of the matter the fact was broughtout that a heater could be purchased for $35.00. Alderman B. O. Elliottmoved that Hr. Harrison be authorized to purchase said heater. AldermanBen J. Hilbun seconded the mation, it passed unanimously and it is soordered.*************************************I , -Mr. E. P. Lrn.Je, City Engineer, presented a request to the Hayor and Boardof A1derm'"'1l from R. L. Tid1,·le11 for a salary increase to (~200.00 per month.During a discussion of this request the fact Has brought out that practicallyall of the City Employees desired an increase in salary, and motion was madeseconded and r03sed and it ivas ordered that action on this matter be de.layeduntil the quaterly audit of the City records had been made and at vrhich timethe rna tter "rill be gone into further.**************************************L- ---- -----------. __ ._--------------------
