Garrett brought before the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen the matter <strong>of</strong> a reductionon the Real assessment <strong>of</strong> The H enry Hotel, and after due consideration, Alderman Ben J.Hilbun made the motion that said assessment appearing on Page 33, Line 9 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>1950</strong>Assessment Roll be reduced' ~1,000.00, therefore, making the total Read assessment <strong>of</strong>the Henry Hotel $26,070.00. This' motion ,·laS seconded by Alderman ,.[. T. Chandler andpassed unanimously and it was so ordered.******************************Hamp Davidson appeared before the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Alderman and requested that assessmentappearing on Page 21, Line 13 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>1950</strong> Real Assessment Roll be reduced~ This assessmentis described as Part <strong>of</strong> Lot 64. After due consideration, Alderman Ben J. Hilbun made amotion that said assessment be reduced $300.00 making the total assessment $1200.00.Alderman H. S. Sisk seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.****************************Cane on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> placing stop signs at the intersection <strong>of</strong> Northand South Lamar Streets and the Square. After a discussion <strong>of</strong> the matter, Alderman BenJ. Hilbun moved that a S:topSignbe~ placed where North Lamar Street enters the Square,and another stop Sigh be placed where South Lamar Street enters the Square. This motionwaS seconded by Alderman H. T.Elliott voted yeaHilbun voted yeaSisk voted yeaHickey voted yeaChandler voted nayThe Mayor declared the motion carried and it was so ordered.************************Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> removing the traffic signs. from the light post,and after a discussion, motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously and it was orderedthat all traffic signs be removed from light post.***********************Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Employees who worked in the snow andice being given a compensation for their efforts and time and their work under hazardousconditions. After a discussion Alderman W. T. Chandler moved that the Street Crew be paid65 cents an hour for time spent working streets under said conditions. Alderman B. O.Elliott seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.*********************Alderman Ben J. Hilbun made a motion that a 30;£ increase be given the Water and LightDepartment employees, and also that a 30% increase be given the policemen who worked for6 days in the ice and snow.
