HRrrison, Superintendent Light De:,artment********************After the meetinG had been called to order, the following business was had, to-wit:Came on for consideration the matter <strong>of</strong> making a temporary connection with T. V. A.Line to use when necessary. After a discussion <strong>of</strong> the matter, Mr. Harrison was authorizedto make said connection, and to buy necessary poles for same.***********************Votion was made by Alderman W. T. Chandler, seconded by Alderman B. O. Elliott and passedunanimously and it was ordered that the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> donate $750.00 to the UniversityHigh School Band Club to be used topurchase uniforms for the University High School Band.It was further ordered that a check be issued to Mrs. W. W. Joor, President, Band ParentsClub, for the above amount.***********************Pursuant to an advertisment in The <strong>Oxford</strong> Eab1e for bids on cast iron pipe to be receivedup until 7:30 P. M., <strong>January</strong> 16, 1951, bids were received from the.following companies:Crane CompanyMemphis, Tenn.Viking Supply Company325 West Trigg A.venueMemphis, Tenn.James B. C10w and SonsBirmingham 2, AlabamaW. W. Dunn and CompanyJackson, MiSSissippiAfter the bids had been duly considered, motion \-laS made, seconded and passed unanimouslyand it was ordered that the bid from Ciking Supply Corporation be accepted, said bid beingthe best and lowest bid.************************Upon motion made, seconded and passed, it was ordered that this Board do nOl·! recess until7: 30 p.
