22~C-..:;c:.::~,,-_.DEM£IIT - M ~RrDTAli' .. __•. __.......•_-=---c':-'---'~"--_____MINUTE BOQK No. 14, CITY O[ OXFORDI['I=All in The City of Oxford, Mississippi, as shown on theofficial map thereof, additions and amendments thereto on filewith the City Engineer of Oxford, Mississippi and with the ChanceryClerk of Lafayette County, Mississippi, and as set forthin the plans and specifications of the respective projects andimprovements on file with the City Engineer of Oxford, Mississippi.Whereas, on October 16th, 1950, at a regular meeting of theMayor and Board of Aldermen of The City of Oxford, Mississippi,a resolution was duly passed declaring the construction of paving,curbs and gutters, and the other works set forth in paragraphs(a), (b), (b2), and (c) of Section 1 of this resolution necessary,and providing for grading, water, sanitary and storm sewer lines,drainage, street paving, curbs and gutters, and sidewalks, andwidening of streets and avenues, respectively, to the extent andin the manner set forth in the respective paragraphs; and,••Whereas, on July 4, 1950, at a regular meeting of the Mayorand Board of Aldermen of The City of Oxford, Mississippi, a resolutionwas duly passed declaring that the construction of curbsand gutters, incidental storm sewers and drains, and the otherworks set forth in Paragraphs (d) of Section 1 of this resolutionnecessary, over and alonG both sides of Johnson Avenue, South16th Street from Johnson Avenue to Garfield Avenue, and GarfieldAvenue from South 16th Street to the eastern limits of The Cityof Oxford, Mississippi, and providing for said works and specialimprovements to the extent and in the manner set forth in saidparagraph (d); and,Whereas, on July 11, 1950, at a regular meetins of the Mayorand Board of Aldemen of The City of Oxford, MissisSippi, a resolutionwas duly passed declaring that the construction of side­'-lalks, and the other works incident thereto, as set forth inparagraph (e) of Section 1 of this resolution, are necessary onSouth 18th Street in Haley's Subdivision to The City of Oxford,Mississippi from the point where South 18th Street intersectswith the South side of University Avenue, southwardly along saidstreet through Haley's Subdivision, a distance of 1,235.5 feet,as shown on the map and plat of said Subdivision on file with theCity Engineer of The City of Oxford, Mississippi, and with theChancery Clerk of Lafayette County, Mississippi, and providingfor said works and special improvements to the extent and in the'manner set forth in said paragraph (e); andWhereas, all of said works and special improvements are withinthe corporate limits of The City of Oxford, Mississippi, withinthe jurisdiction of the Hayor and Board of Aldermen of The Cityof Oxford, Mississippi, and are as shown to be located accordingto the official mar of The City of Oxford, MissisSippi, and theadditions and amendments thereto, on file with the City Engineerof Oxford, Mississippi, and with the Chancery Clerk of LafayetteCounty, Mississippi, and as set forth in the ~lans and specificationsof the respective projects and special~provements on filewith the City Engineer of Oxford; Mississippi; and,Whereas, the City Clerk published said resolutions inTheOxford Eagle, a newspaper published in The City of Oxford, Mississippi,each, once a week for three successive weeks on thefollovling dates, towi t:The streets listed in paragraphs (a), (b), ,(b-2), and (c) ofSection 1 of this resolution: October 19, 1950, .October 26, 1950and November 2, 1950;The. streets listed in parar,raph (d) ,of Section 1 of this resolution:-July. 6, 1950, July U, ,1950, and July 20, 1950; and,The Streets listed in paragraph (e) of Section 1 of this resoluticn:-July 20, 1950, July 27, 1950 and August 3, 1950.Whereas, more than fifteen days have elapsed since the firstpublication of this resolution; and,
