223MINUTE_BOOK No. <strong>14</strong>, ClIY OF OXJORDWhereas, this Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen, sitting to hearobjections and protests against the construction <strong>of</strong> said specialimprovements, adjudges that no successfUl objections have beenmade and heard; and,l{hereas, the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi adjudges that said special-improvements bemade as provided in said resolutions declaring necessary, andadjudges that The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> shall pay one-third <strong>of</strong> the expenseincurred in paving the streets specified in said resolutions,and the abutting property owners shall pay tvlo-thirds(one-third on each side <strong>of</strong> the said streets I'lnd avenues) <strong>of</strong> thepaving costs and expense, and all costs and expense in constructingthe sidewalks, curbs, gutters abutting their respectiveproperties; nov!, therefore,Be and it is hereby resolved and ordered ty the Mayor andBoard <strong>of</strong>. Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi:Section 1. That the <strong>City</strong> En~neer be and he is hereby aut}]orizedto construct, or cause to be constructed street paving,curbs and gutters, lay metal and other pipe, sanitary and stormsewers, incidental storm sewers and drains, and do such grading,graveling, and other acts and thi~gs deemed by him necessary inand about, along and on, (1) FiDmore Avenue from the Hest side<strong>of</strong> <strong>14</strong>th street to the East side <strong>of</strong> 15th Street, from the Northside <strong>of</strong> Fillmore Avenue on 15th Street Southward to the intersection<strong>of</strong> Pierce Avenue; and on <strong>14</strong>th street from the North side<strong>of</strong> Pierce Avenue to the South side <strong>of</strong> Fillmore Avenue, and fromthe North side <strong>of</strong> Fillmore Avenue on <strong>14</strong>th street to the Southside <strong>of</strong> Taylor Avenue; and (2) North 7th Street between the intersection<strong>of</strong> the north line <strong>of</strong> l.-lashington Avenue end the Southline <strong>of</strong> Price street; all in The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Vississippi, asshovm on the <strong>of</strong>ficial map <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> on file ,,-11 th the Mayor <strong>of</strong><strong>Oxford</strong>, ~ississippi and with the Chancery Clerk <strong>of</strong> LafayetteCounty, Mississippip and the <strong>City</strong> Engineer shall keep an accurateaccount <strong>of</strong> the work done, cost and expense <strong>of</strong> said improvements,and make a report <strong>of</strong> same to the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen<strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, }ussissippi.Section 2. That the <strong>City</strong> Engineer be and he is hereby requiredto keep a separate account <strong>of</strong> the cost <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong> saidspecial improvements and make a report there<strong>of</strong> to t~is governingbody in order that said governing body may leVy the specialassessment against the abutting property o\~ers on the basis hereinbefore specified in the manner provided by lm.l.Section 3.
