MINUTE BOOK No. <strong>14</strong>, CITY OF OXFORDDEMENT - MERIDIAN~ .. -;:."There came on for discussion the matter <strong>of</strong> the need for the <strong>City</strong> to issue special·improvement bonds to pay for certain special improvements which have been done overthe last few months and further for those to be done during the next few months.The <strong>City</strong> Engineer estimated that it WOuld be necessary to issue such bonds in theminimum amount <strong>of</strong> $200,000.00. Tbe <strong>City</strong> Attorney stated to the Mayor and ~oardthat it would be necessarY for there'to' be an agreement between the MayQr and ~oardand himself relative to a fee for the handling <strong>of</strong> said issue. He rurtber statedthat the usual and customary fee vas in the amount <strong>of</strong> 1% <strong>of</strong> the bond issue. Afterconsiderable discussion it vas agreed b,y and between the Mayor and Board and the <strong>City</strong>Attorney that the <strong>City</strong> Attorney would handle said issue for a fee <strong>of</strong> One ThousandDollars ($1,000), it being understood and agreed 'that the <strong>City</strong> would take care <strong>of</strong> allexpenses <strong>of</strong> the issue, including costs <strong>of</strong> printing the bonds, court costs, the fee<strong>of</strong> the state bond attorney, the fee <strong>of</strong> the usual approving attorneys, Charles &Trauernioht <strong>of</strong> St. Louis, Mo., and all other usual costs. All members <strong>of</strong> the Mayorand Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen agreed to the foregoing arrangement, as did the <strong>City</strong> Attorney.********************************The remainder <strong>of</strong> the time <strong>of</strong> the meeting was spent in equalizing the tax roll.*********************************Upon motion made, seconded and passed, it vas ordered that this Board do now recessuntil 7 o'clock P. M. Tuesday, October 10, <strong>1950</strong>.
