C.AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN SIDES OF CERTAINSTREETS FOR CERTAIN DISTANCES WITHIN THE CITY OF OXFORD, MISSISSIPPIINSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK S&ME ACCORDINGLY, PRESCRIBINGPENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, PROVIDING THAT IT TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.Be it ordained by the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi;Section 1. That parking <strong>of</strong> automobiles and other vehicles is herebyprohibited on the fo11owing parts <strong>of</strong> the following streets and avenueswithin the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, Mississippi:South side <strong>of</strong> Filmore Avenue from South Eight Street to South LamarStreetEast side <strong>of</strong> North Eleventh Street from Jefferson Avenue to WashingtonAvenue.Section 2. That the <strong>City</strong> Engineer is hereby authorized and instructedto mark the foregoing streets vi th ye110w lines so as to indicate that parkingis prohibited on said side <strong>of</strong> said streets for said distances.Seotion 3. That any violation <strong>of</strong> this ordinance shall be punished bya fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or by imprisoment for notlonger than thirty (.30) days, or by both such fine and imprisoment.Section 4. That because this ordinance is immediately necessary forthe preservation <strong>of</strong> the public safety, that it be in force and take effectfrom and after its passage, the Mayor and all members <strong>of</strong> the Board beingpresent and voting in favor <strong>of</strong> it.Adopted this 9th day <strong>of</strong> October, <strong>1950</strong>.R.
