C.AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN SIDES OF CERTAINSTREETS FOR CERTAIN DISTANCES WITHIN THE CITY OF OXFORD, MISSISSIPPIINSTRUCTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK S&ME ACCORDINGLY, PRESCRIBINGPENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, PROVIDING THAT IT TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.Be it ordained by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City ofOxford, Mississippi;Section 1. That parking of automobiles and other vehicles is herebyprohibited on the fo11owing parts of the following streets and avenueswithin the City of Oxford, Mississippi:South side of Filmore Avenue from South Eight Street to South LamarStreetEast side of North Eleventh Street from Jefferson Avenue to WashingtonAvenue.Section 2. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and instructedto mark the foregoing streets vi th ye110w lines so as to indicate that parkingis prohibited on said side of said streets for said distances.Seotion 3. That any violation of this ordinance shall be punished bya fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), or by imprisoment for notlonger than thirty (.30) days, or by both such fine and imprisoment.Section 4. That because this ordinance is immediately necessary forthe preservation of the public safety, that it be in force and take effectfrom and after its passage, the Mayor and all members of the Board beingpresent and voting in favor of it.Adopted this 9th day of October, 1950.R.
