107DEMENT - ME~lDIANplant and distribution system <strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> apd ~hall be an a paritybasis with the said Clty's Electric Revenue Bonds, Series 1946,in accordance with Secti~n5, Subsection (d), paragraph (2) <strong>of</strong> theordinance issuing and the contract and terms <strong>of</strong> said ElectricReve~ue Bonds, Series 1946.Bidders are requested to designate in their bids thelprice they will pay for bonds bearin~, ,interest at a rate or rateslikewise to be designated in their bids. It is the intention <strong>of</strong>the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen to decide w ich <strong>of</strong> the bids submittedis the highest upon the basis <strong>of</strong> the total interest costover the life <strong>of</strong> the issue, less the premium specified in the bid.Proposals should be addressed to the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Alderman<strong>of</strong> said <strong>City</strong> and should be plainly marked "Proposal for Bonds" and shouldbe filed with the <strong>City</strong> Clerk on or prior to the date and hour hereinabovenamed.Each bid must be accompanied b.Y a Cashier's check, cerfitied check,or exchange, payable to the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>, MissiSSippi, for Two per centum(2%) <strong>of</strong> the amount <strong>of</strong> bonds bid for, as a guarantee that the bidder willcarry out his contract and purchase the bonds if his bid be accepted. Ifthe successful bidder fails to purchase the bonds pUrsUant to his bid andcontract, the amount <strong>of</strong> such good faith check shall be retained b.1 the<strong>City</strong> as liquidated damages for such failure.The Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen reserve the right to reject anyor all bids. The <strong>City</strong> will pay for the printing <strong>of</strong> the bonds, the cost <strong>of</strong>validation, and the approving opinion <strong>of</strong> the law firm <strong>of</strong> Charles andTrauernicht, st. lDuis, Missouri, Delivery <strong>of</strong> the bonds will be made tothe purchaser on or before the ~ day <strong>of</strong> September , <strong>1950</strong>, at a placeto be designated by the purchaser without cost to the purchaser.By order <strong>of</strong> the Mayor and Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>,MissiSSippi, this da y <strong>of</strong> June, <strong>1950</strong>., --crity Clerk <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong>,MissiSSippi.4. The <strong>City</strong> Clerk shall obtain from the publisher <strong>of</strong> theaforesaid newspaper the customary publisher's affadavit <strong>of</strong> said notice forthe time and in t.l}e manner required by law, and such pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> publicationshall be filed in the <strong>City</strong> Clerk's <strong>of</strong>fice.5.
