However, there’s always morethat we can do.“Why not make a New Year’sResolution to recycle more things,more often? It would be great for allglass bottles and jars, cans and everybit of paper used in Sefton to berecycled, as well as any textiles andfood waste. The weekly kerbsiderecycling collection service providedin Sefton makes it as easy to recycle asit is to throw it in the bin.”Ruairi Holyoake, North WestOperations Manager for PalmRecycling, added: “Waste createdduring the festive period is at an alltime high and much of this can berecycled. Think about theenvironment and try not to putanything recyclable into the wastebin. Please use the weekly kerbsiderecycling service provided by PalmRecycling for all your glass bottles andjars, cans, paper, textiles and foodwaste.”The blue bag can be used to recyclenewspapers, magazines and all otherpaper–based items, which istransferred to Palm’sstate–of–the–art paper mill where itis reprocessed into fresh newsprint.The green box can be used to recycleempty cranberry sauce and pickledonion jars, beer and wine bottles andlager cans, as well as biscuit tins andaluminium foil. The glass is recycledinto new glass products, whilstaluminium tins and steel cans arerecycled into new metal products.The food waste collection serviceusing the caddies and kerbside foodwaste bin, can be used to dispose of allleftovers from the New Yearcelebrations.
