Backward class category candidates shall be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment in open category seat byvirtue <strong>of</strong> their merit or in their respective category <strong>of</strong> reservation if open category seats are notavailable at their merit. Engineering/Technology DTE, Mumbai 18 Admission Brochure <strong>2009</strong> SBC category candidates shall be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment in Open category by virtue <strong>of</strong> their meritor in their original category <strong>of</strong> reservation, if open seats are not available as per their merit Physically handicapped category candidates shall be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment <strong>for</strong> the seats reserved<strong>for</strong> them by virtue <strong>of</strong> their merit or in open category as per their inter-se merit if the seats reserved<strong>for</strong> physically handicapped are not available at their merit. Defence category candidates shall be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment <strong>for</strong> the seats reserved <strong>for</strong> them byvirtue <strong>of</strong> their merit or in open category as per their inter-se merit if the seats reserved <strong>for</strong> Defencecategory candidates are not available at their merit. For the female candidates, the availability <strong>of</strong> seat shall be checked in the following order:1. in the seats reserved <strong>for</strong> females in open category,2. in the general seats in open category,3. in the seats reserved <strong>for</strong> females in respective caste category as applicable,4. in the general seats in their respective caste category as applicable.Stage – II: For respective Backward Class Candidates On completion <strong>of</strong> Stage – I, if any <strong>of</strong> the backward class categories mentioned above do not getthe required number <strong>of</strong> female candidates <strong>for</strong> the percentages laid down, the seats so remainingvacant shall be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment to male candidates belonging to respective Backward Classcategory.Stage –III: For Special Backward Class category candidatesOn completion <strong>of</strong> Stage-II, if any <strong>of</strong> the backward class categories mentioned above, does not get therequired number <strong>of</strong> candidates <strong>for</strong> the percentages laid down, the seats so remaining vacant shall beconsidered <strong>for</strong> allotment to all the candidates (male and female taken together) <strong>of</strong> Special BackwardClass (SBC) category, as per their inter se merit, limited to the extent <strong>of</strong> two percent seats <strong>of</strong>Maharashtra State seats which are coming under the purview <strong>of</strong> Competent Authority <strong>for</strong> the course.Stage –IV: For respective groups <strong>of</strong> Backward Class category candidatesAll the Backward class category candidates will be considered <strong>for</strong> allotment in this stage in the groupsas mentioned below.-Group 1: i) Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Castes converted to Buddhism (SC)ii) Scheduled Tribes including those living outside the specified areas (ST)Group 2: i) Vimukta Jatis/De-Notified Tribes (VJ/DT) NT(A)ii) Nomadic Tribes 1 (NT-B)Babasaheb Naik College <strong>of</strong> Engineering, Pusad(<strong>Mandatory</strong> <strong>Disclosure</strong> <strong>2010</strong>) M‐60
