All available seats will beoffered only to Maharashtra Statecandidates who are eligible toparticipate in CAP Round-IV.Major Rules of the Centralized Admission Process are summarized below:- Candidates who have confirmed admission in any one of the Autonomous Institutes(institutes mentioned in rule 1.0) are not eligible to participate in any of the CAProunds-I/II/III/IV conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S., andMumbai. Candidates who have confirmed admission in any one of the CAP roundsI/II/III/IV conducted by DTE will not be able to participate in any admissionrounds conducted by the Autonomous Institutes (institutes mentioned in rule1.0). If a candidate cancels his/her admission, which was confirmed in earlier CAPround(s) or in the Autonomous Institutes, will not be eligible to participate in thesubsequent CAP round(s) conducted by DTE and in the AdmissionEngineering/Technology DTE, Mumbai 16 Admission Brochure 2009 Round(s)conducted by Autonomous Institutes, even after cancellation of such admission. Details of eligibility for participating in each round of CAP, method of reportingafter each CAP round, availability of seats for each CAP round and other detailsare given in the Annexure-I of this Information Brochure.Seats remaining vacant after completion of CAP will be filled at the Institute level. Only one round of admission by counseling for J&K Migrant seats will be conducted. (Refer rule 6.3for details).Various steps in the process of admission to Engineering courses are also given in the Annexure-I.The steps include issue of Information brochure, filling up & confirmation of Online CAP Applicationform, filling up & confirmation of Option form for each round of Centralized Allotment, Allotmentprocess and Reporting Rules etc. Candidates are required to read carefully the details of CAP given inthe Annexure-I and follow instructions given therein.6.1: CAP Rounds I/II/III by allotment and Round-IV by CentralizedCounseling for Maharashtra State candidates (Type A,B,C,D,E,F)Eligible candidates: - All the eligible Maharashtra State candidates (Type A-F) who have a validMHT-CET-2009 score and have been assigned Maharashtra State Merit number and whose nameappear in the merit list for respective CAP rounds prepared by the Competent Authority shall beconsidered for allotment in these Rounds. Seats available: Refer Rule 2.6.1, 2.6.2 and 2.6.36.1.1 CAP Rounds I/II/III: Direct Allotment:-Allotment of seats for Home University seats and OHU seats for other university candidates comingunder CAP is carried out as per the logic explained in the rule 6.1.3.For the CAP Round-I, Stage-I, Stage – II and Stage-III of rule 6.1.3 shall be executed. Seatsremaining vacant due to non-allotment and non-reporting will be available for allotment in CAPRound-II.For the CAP Round-II, Stage-I to Stage-V of rule 6.1.3 shall be executed. Seats remaining vacant dueto non-allotment and non-reporting will be available for allotment in CAP Round-III.For the CAP Round-III, Stage-I to Stage-VI of rule 6.1.3 shall be executed. Seats remaining vacantdue to non-allotment and non-reporting will be available for admission through counseling in CAPRound-IV.The seat tags i.e. Reserved category, PH, DEF, HU, OHU, Ladies, AIEEE etc. shall bemaintained during allotment in CAP Round-I, II and III.6.1.2 CAP Round IV- Admission by Centralized Counseling:CAP Round-IV of admission will be conducted only for eligible Maharashtra State Candidates whosenames have appeared in Maharashtra State Merit list (subject to eligibility of participation as set outin the Annexure-I). During this round of admission by Counseling, no seat tag will be applied i.e.seats available shall be treated as GENERAL seats and shall be allotted solely on the basis of inter-semerit of eligible MS candidates without any reference whatsoever to the category of the candidate(s)(open /reserved) or Engineering/Technology DTE, Mumbai 17 Admission Brochure 2009 the categoryto which the vacant seat belongs (such as Home University, other than Home University, BackwardClass, Physically Handicapped etc) and also all the vacant AIEEE Seats shall be treated as GENERALseats and will be offered to MS candidates from Maharashtra State Merit list as stated above.The number of the seats, type of seat tag etc. will be made available on website to theeligible candidates before filling up of the option forms for CAP Rounds I, II and III.Babasaheb Naik College of Engineering, Pusad(Mandatory Disclosure 2010) M‐58
