XI.CRITERIA AND WEIGHTAGES FOR ADMISSION Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. Admission Test, marks inqualifying examination etc.Guidelines for the Admission Process to be carried out by Unaided CollegesEngineering/Technology DTE, Mumbai Admission Brochure 20096.0 Rules of Admission through Centralized Admission Process (CAP)This section briefly explains the various stages and procedure adopted for the CAP. Candidatesseeking admission to Engineering/Technology courses are required to appear for MHT-CET2009/AIEEE-2009 conducted by the respective Competent Authority. For the academic year 2009-2010, the Competent Authority shall conduct total Four (4) rounds of Centralized Admission. The CAPshall consist of first three (3) rounds of Centralized Allotment wherein eligible candidates of respectiverounds ( both Maharashtra and AIEEE ) will fill & confirm fresh Online Option forms for respectiverounds. The Maharashtra Candidate eligible for All India Seats (AIEEE) is required to submit onlysingle option form for both Maharashtra and All India Seats. Fourth round of CAP shall be conductedby way of counseling, only for the eligible Maharashtra State candidates.Major Steps in the CET, Admission through CAP and tentative schedule are summarized below:1. Fill in and Submit Application Form for MHT-CET 2009.2. Appear for the MHT-CET 2009 as per the schedule ( 12th May 2009).3. Declaration of the result of MHT-CET 2009 (14th June 2009).4. Document Verification, Fill in the Online Application Form for Centralized Admission toEngineering i.e. CAP and Confirm it at the Application form Receipt Centers ( ARCs ) byeligible MHT-CET 2009 and AIEEE-2009 (Paper-I) qualified candidates (18th June 2009 to30th June 2009).5. Display of Merit List of candidates who have confirmed the online Application Form forCentralized Admission to Engineering on website www.dte.org.in/fe2009. (7 th July2009).6. Fill in and confirm the Online Option Form(s) for CAP Round(s) I/II/III (by Candidateseligible to participate in these CAP rounds) on the website www.dte.org.in/fe2009. (in July-August 2009).7. Display of Allotment(s) of respective CAP Round(s) I/II/III on the websitewww.dte.org.in/fe2009. (in July-August 2009).8. Reporting to respective Institutes as per allotment of CAP Round(s) I/II/III. (in July–August 2009).9. Conduction of CAP Round-IV by counseling and Reporting to respective Institute. (inAugust/September 2009)Above mentioned schedule and procedure is tentative and shall be taken as a suggestiveguideline. A notification giving details such as schedule, procedure of Centralized Admission will bedisplayed on the website and published in leading newspapers. In order to participate in the CAP,the aspiring & eligible candidate is required to submit and confirm the “Application Form forBabasaheb Naik College of Engineering, Pusad(Mandatory Disclosure 2010) M‐55
Centralized Admission to Engineering” (in June 2009) at the ARC. The scheme of allotmentthrough Multiple Rounds and Rules of Reporting presented below is designed to prevent loss ofacademics and to make the CAP Rounds meaningful and effective rather than formal andineffective in view of the previous experience of this Directorate as also the facts and figuresavailable with this Directorate as to the seats remaining vacant at the end of each Round(s) andespecially at the end of all the Round(s) of such Centralized Allotment Process. The rounds are sodesigned with the purpose that, maximum vacant seats are filled in, without creating furtherresultant vacancies on account of shifting of students to whom already allotment has been madein earlier rounds of CAP. This step is required to enable the colleges to start the academic activityimmediately to complete the term in time.Summary of “Rules of Reporting” in CAP is as follows:RoundNo.No. of Optionsto be filled inNo. of optionsallotted forwhichconfirmingAdmission isMandatoryRemarksFirst 20 options (Min. 1and Max. 20)Any one of thefirst Nine optionsCandidate has to confirm theadmission, if he/she gets allotmentof any one choice from first Nineoptions. Such candidates willnot be able to participate infurther rounds of CAP i.e.Round-II,III &IV, irrespectiveof the fact that such candidateconfirms the admission or not.Other candidates who have gotallotment between options 10-20may also confirm the admission ifhe/she wishes so, however suchcandidate will not be able toparticipate in further rounds of CAPi.e. Round-II,III &IV.Second30 fresh options(Min. 1 and Max.30)Any one of thefirst FifteenoptionsCandidate has to confirm theadmission, if he / she get allotmentof any choice from first Fifteenoptions.
