2.7.3 Authority Competent to make CompassionateAppointments:The Director, CBI being Head of the Department is competentto make such appointment.2.7.4 Posts to which such appointment can be made :Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts against the direct recruitment quota.2.7.5 Determination/Availability of Vacancies(a)Appointment on compassionate grounds should be madeonly on regular basis and that too only if regularvacancies meant for that purpose are available.(b) Compassionate appointments can be made uptomaximum of 5% of vacancies falling under directrecruitment quota in any Group ‘C’ or Group ‘D’ posts.Page 23 of 23
