That instilled in him his first lovefor nature, particularly for birds. Constantly portraying birdsenabled him to develop a style of painstaking detail, not only in theanatomy of the bird itself but also for the habitat of each and everyspecies depicted. His first solo exhibition was in 1986 at St. John’sCo-Cathedral Annex in Valletta, entitled ‘Bird Studies’, followedby another show on the same subject in 1989 at the NaturalHistory Museum in Mdina. Through the years he changed bothsubject and medium and started giving particular attention to ourrich and unique architectural legacy.
