TheChapel’s mission is to provide spiritual support to allmilitary members and their families who are assigned toMacDill through worship services, counseling, unitvisitation, and various other programs. SSgt Flores isNCOIC Program Support in which he leads incoordinating outreach events to the base communitywhile handling the chapel’s publicity. In addition, heserves as maintenance manager over the 40 year oldchapel facility. The facility is utilized for 300 events permonth varying from worship services to base functions.Furthermore as security manager, he is responsible formaintaining the clearances of over 100 volunteers toinclude adherence toward OPSEC guidelines. Variousother duties include equipment custodian, maintainingreligious literature, and customer service.SSgt Flores is a native of Modesto, California and has served six years in United States Air Forceas an Aircraft Armament Apprentice and now as a Chaplain Assistant. As an aircraft weaponsload team member, his assignments included flightline maintenance on the B-1B bomber and F-16 airframes. He also spent two years in armament backshop before cross-training to his currentposition in June 2011. He has been honored with Senior Airman Below-the-Zone, Support TeamMember of the Quarter Award, and Airman of the Month recognition during a deployment.
