Submitted By: Grand Lodge TrusteesSection(s) AffectedRESOLUTION NUMBER: 8- 2006Vote Required for Adoption: majorityPurpose: To authorize sale <strong>of</strong> leased and vacant lands pursuant to Sec. 28.05 (2.)WHEREAS; St. Mary’s Episcopal Church <strong>of</strong> Dousman, WI has negotiated withthe Trustees <strong>of</strong> the Grand Lodge to purchase the 2.2 acres <strong>of</strong> land the church nowleases plus the balance <strong>of</strong> the land in a triangle bordered by the Bark River and Hwy18 and 67 for a total <strong>of</strong> approximately 9 acres for the purpose <strong>of</strong> building a newchurch, andWHEREAS the 99 year lease has 72 years before its termination and the Trusteeshave not been able to identify a better use <strong>of</strong> this property for the Grand Lodge, andWHEREAS the Church has made an <strong>of</strong>fer <strong>of</strong> $400,000 for this land which was itsappraised commercial value in March 2006 and the Trustees have accepted that<strong>of</strong>fer contingent on approval <strong>of</strong> this Grand Lodge, thereforeIT IS RESOLVED that the Grand Lodge assembled does hereby approve the sale<strong>of</strong> this land as negotiated by the Grand Lodge Trustees to St. Mary’s EpiscopalChurch <strong>of</strong> Dousman, <strong>Wisconsin</strong> for the sum <strong>of</strong> $400,000. Said lands consist <strong>of</strong> twoparcels, located in the southeast 1/4 <strong>of</strong> section 34, township 7 north, Range 17 East,In The Town <strong>of</strong> Summit, County <strong>of</strong> Waukesha, State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> and moreparticularity described in the Lawyers Title Insurance Corp <strong>of</strong> Waukesha, TitleInsurance Commitment Case # WA 255231.Past Grand Master William E. Day, chairman <strong>of</strong> the Grand Lodge Trustee,presented some informational maps, charts and history regarding the property inquestion.Resolution adoptedAPPEALS AND GRIEVANCES COMMITTEE REPORTTo the Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons <strong>of</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong>:Senior Grand Warden, J B Van Hollen reported on behalf <strong>of</strong> the Appeals andGrievances Committee as follows. “It is not one <strong>of</strong> the most favorable things that wedo during Grand Lodges, but it is <strong>of</strong> necessity because, <strong>of</strong> course, we occasionally dohave people who go wayward, who are brothers. The Appeals and GrievancesCommittee, the trial commission and the Grand Master do have to deal with thoseindividuals and those problems. On behalf <strong>of</strong> Past Grand Master Herman Friess,who is the chairman <strong>of</strong> the Appeals and Grievances Committee, I am here to give ourreport. This report will require us to ballot three different times during the report andI will explain those we go on..”Pursuant to Chapter 108 <strong>of</strong> the Masonic Code <strong>of</strong> <strong>Wisconsin</strong> I present this report <strong>of</strong>the Appeals and Grievances Committee.
