Explain the following: • Characters: people or animals • Setting: where/time the story took place • Problems: make people feel unhappy. Unhappiness can come from anger, fights, or fears. • Solutions: good ideas about ways to fix unhappiness. 2. On piece of paper (across the page) write: who, what, when, where and why 3. Guide children to answer (when written across the page, a sentence can be formed). Assessment of Child Did the child describe the plot (problem and solution) and retell a story's beginning, middle, and end with attention to the sequence of events? Self-Reflection What I did well with comprehension I feel that I was able to model ThinkAloud correctly and was able to get the kids to engage in predicting and thinking.
