Most loss events had a low severity impact on theorganisation.A breakdown of loss events by type is similar to the breakdown establishedfor 2006, with most events consisting of execution errors and externalfraud (arising mainly on the credit card business).Data is collected on historical risk incidents according to the type ofevent (defined by banking regulations), as follows:123ASSET-L IABILITY M ANAGEMENT R ISK4(See section 5.5 Financial statements – note 4.c. – Market risks related to banking intermediation activities and investments.)LIQUIDITY AND R EFINANCING R ISK5MOVEMENTS IN THE CONSOLIDATED BALANCESHEETThe Group had total assets of EUR 1,695 billion at 31 December <strong>2007</strong>.A total of EUR 800 billion in assets were refinanced in cash, an increaseof EUR 100 billion on 2006, including EUR 68 billion relating to loans tocustomers and EUR 27 billion relating to securities.This increase was refinanced primarily by customer depositsfor EUR 47 billion and by senior and junior debt securities forEUR 39 billion.(See also – Balance sheet review in section 4.3.)CHANGE IN OFF-BALANCE SHEET FINANCINGCOMMITMENTSAt 31 December <strong>2007</strong>, outstanding financing commitments given totalledEUR 231 billion, including EUR 26 billion relating to credit institutionsand EUR 205 billion relating to customers. Financing commitments givendecreased by EUR 5 billion year-on-year, with commitments to creditinstitutions falling EUR 10 billion and commitments to customers risingEUR 5 billion.Outstanding financing commitments received totalled EUR 107 billion,including EUR 100 billion from credit institutions and EUR 7 billion fromcustomers. Financing commitments received increased by EUR 31 billionyear-on-year, with a rise of EUR 29 billion in commitments fromcredit institutions and a rise of EUR 2 billion in commitments fromcustomers.On a net basis, commitments with credit institutions fell EUR 39 billionand commitments with customers advanced EUR 3 billion.REGULATORY LIQUIDITY RATIOSThe average 1-month regulatory liquidity coefficient for BNP Paribas SA(French operations and foreign branches) was 106.1% in <strong>2007</strong>.INTERNAL MEDIUM AND LONG-TERMLIQUIDITY RATIOSThe maturity gap beyond one year between sources of funds with thesame maturities and uses of funds with the same maturities was 18.5%at the end of December <strong>2007</strong> for the entire BNP Paribas Group, versus13.2% at end-December 2006.The own funds and permanent capital ratio came to 88% at31 December <strong>2007</strong> versus 94% at 31 December 2006.6789101182<strong>2007</strong> Registration document - BNP PARIBAS
